Hello everyone,
I’ve got great news. My wife has agreed to come camping with me! Yes, I think I can say I’ve succeeded with my mission to introduce her to camping and the outdoors. However I had to agree to rent a cabin for her to come. Our trip is in two weeks at Mineral Springs Family Campground (as of my last post, she hadn’t agreed yet).
When it comes to camping, Ive been a traditionalist- tent camping or nothing. That being said, I have mixed feelings about the cabin. It comes equipped with a small refrigerator which will be handy as it will result in less dependency on my cooler but what’s next – a fully
working bathroom or perhaps cable television? Those are the items of RV camping aka the dark side. Luckily, I’m far too cheap to rent or buy an RV so I’m confident I’ll remain on the right side of the camping force.
Renting this cabin has forced me to go through my camping list to make sure I’ve got everything covered. The cabin has a full-size bed and a set bunk beds (more luxuries, I know) so I suspect I’ll need to get sheets for the beds so my wife will be comfortable enough. I’ll still push her to get a sleeping bag for a more true camping experience as well as another lantern so we could have one for the cabin and the tent (which I’ll be staying in). Other than that, I don’t think there is much I need to pick up other than the normal trip supplies. I’m sure I’ll forget something and I’ll let you know exactly that it is.
Well that’s about it for now. I’ll leave you with this – please remember that there are paths to temptation everywhere so we must be diligent to remain on the correct camping path.
Thanks again for reading
Eric
